Earlier this month, the dance school our granddaughter attends had the final show for the year. There were great performances by all of the girls and young women in ballet, tap and modern dance. Sylvie had a great time, enjoying every minute in the spotlight.
If ever a child was different from her mother in her love of the spotlight and performance, it is Sylvie.
Sylvie performed her "ballet moves" as she calls them,
then did her Broadway Babies tap piece. She exudes pleasure in every minute of the movement, rhythm and music.
Somehow, dance is in her soul. Next year she wants to do three dance classes which may not be possible as her sister is beginning classes too.
It is wonderful to see our granddaughter's joy in dance at five years old. Who knows how long it will last but her family is on this journey with her and enjoying every minute.
She is absolutely adorable. It is interesting how our children can be so different from ourselves. Must be some ancestor's genes who snuck in there. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think the interest comes from an ancestor we know nothing about.
DeleteWonderful! And what a cute costume too!
ReplyDeleteShe loves dressing up too!
DeleteWonderful photos of your dancing girl. She's a natural. Reminscient of Shirley Temple.
ReplyDeleteDance is in her soul I think.
DeleteSoooooo much happiness. Which is contagious. I defy anyone (related or not) to look at her joy and not smile back.
ReplyDeleteThank you. And her.
It is contagious. She makes me smile too.
DeleteI think your granddaughter is made for the stage and performing. I've seen, over the years, children who really aren't getting the fun from it, but going on these photographs your granddaughter is having the time of her life. That pleasure extends to the audience enjoying the routines too. Could I get her autograph now before she's famous! :)
ReplyDeleteLol! You got it, Ann. She revels in the performance and the movement.
DeleteWow,She is so adorable! Her performance is wonderful!I am smiling too.
ReplyDeleteShe finds such joy in performing, Tomoko.
DeleteWhat wonderful fun. Most of my grandkids are waterbabies here.
ReplyDeleteIt is such fun. I hope you live near enough so you can see your grandbabies do what they love to do too, Mage.
DeleteI was thrilled to see these photos. One of our younger granddaughters had the same exuberance during her dance competitions and I loved watching all the numbers. So sweet, I hope your granddaughter will continue for years to come as she does show a passion for dancing.
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to hear about your little sweetie too. Thank you for sharing.
DeleteThe pictures are adorable. I wish my Grand Girl has the opportunity to take dance. Not all will take to it like your grand does. She certainly has stage presence.
ReplyDeleteShe does enjoy being on stage. She's only five so we'll see how it goes.
DeleteFABULOUS action shots of this rising star, Marie. I can just imagine how it thrills you (and her mommy) to no end. WOW!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to watch her enjoyment of the movement and rhythm.
DeleteDanica stopped doing dance this year. I miss the recital.
ReplyDeleteAhhh... Your little sweetie will develop other interests now as she gets older. I always wonder how long our sweetie will remain in dance too.
