Last Monday I wrote about our resident song sparrows. We didn't see the birds for the remainder of the week, so we checked to find the nest.
It is the straw at the center left of the picture.
The birds are long gone now, but not forgotten. Maybe they will return another year.
Nice little residence, it looks like it could be lived in again. :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope so, Jan.
DeleteI'm not sure about sparrows but they will probably return. I know our robins and bluebirds do, anyway.
ReplyDeleteThat's great. I miss them.
DeleteLove that nest. Birds are incredible architects.
ReplyDeleteThey truly are!
DeleteI hope they do.
ReplyDeleteSome birds do, I don't know about song sparrows.
Deletefew years back the pair of such little birds made nest in my big plant of Jasmine and hatch their eggs until they got three little cute baby birds donk know their names they were so tiny and shiny black your nest reminded those who never came back
ReplyDeleteWe were fortunate to have them around a few weeks this year. Another year would be a real bonus.
DeleteHow I envy having birds nest in your yard. We have many varieties visit but because there are so many egg stealing squirrels around, they prefer to set up house elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteI hope your visitors come back.
Me too, Judith. But if not, we had a great time this year!
ReplyDeleteHope the bird will came back! I love to see the master works they do in their nests.
ReplyDeleteIt was invisible under the potentilla. They hid it really well.
