Family walk

The scene along the Confederation Trail is disappointing this year. The autumn colours are missing from the trees. The leaves are drying up and dropping off rather than changing colour before falling. This change began with Dorian and has continued these last weeks. However, the view in this photo is everything to my husband and I.

Our daughter, the kids and the golden grand-dog were on the trail with us.

The girls love to ride ahead on their bikes while the youngest rides in the wagon. Every now and then, he walks along and pulls the wagon himself. Other times, when he’s tired, he lies back on the blanket for a cat nap.

Georgie, the golden, is torn between walking with our daughter or my husband and I. She always walks with the lead person, but she was reluctant to leave us bringing up the rear. We caught up with them and resolved her dilemma.

These are our favourite walks!

  2. I can see why. Sometimes the leaves just fall without changing color, but it is still a wonderful walk with delightful companions. Thank you for sharing your joy, Marie. :-)

  3. Beautiful!
I am afraid we may not have much Autumn color here (Mississippi) this year either. It is so hot and dry the leaves are turning brown and falling off already.
Hope you are having a wonderful week!

  17. This is a grand kind of walk...and good for you for easing Georgie's mind. We had a part collie dog when we were young, and she would lay in the door between kitchen and living room till she could see us both...always wanted us together.

  18. I love that picture! It sounds like the perfect fall day. It's weird how some years the fall colors are much more vibrant than others. They're saying ours may not be as vibrant this year since it has been so hot for so long. Georgie sounds like such a loyal girl.

  19. It was kind of you to resolve Georgie's dilemma :)

It's still a beautiful place to walk, no matter if the leaves turned or not. Hopefully next year will be glorious.
