Dark and light

The hours of daylight are increasing again and before long there will be a noticeable difference. Meanwhile the dreary weather, wet, windy and cold, hasn’t helped my mood. The muted daylight in January and February every year can be depressing in and of itself. We don’t need the dreary weather too.

However, 2020 is in the rear view mirror which is a good thing.

Here’s hoping that this New Year brings more good news for the world now that Covid vaccines are available. Our daughter, a nurse in a seniors’ home here on Prince Edward Island, has already had one dose of a vaccine. My husband and I will be vaccinated sometime this year. We look forward to the time when the world can go back to some semblance of pre-Covid normalcy.

Happy New Year dear friends in blog land. I wish you health and safety and there, just visible on the horizon, life without masks with lots of hugs from friends and family.

My life will still be the same as I have no idea when I can get a vaccine, and I will still have to protect others. I was hoping 2021 would come in with a bang...but right now it seems to be more of the same...sigh.

Welcome back. Yes, there is hope, but we must remain guarded for a long time yet.

I think the whole world wants to return to normal after the miserable year we just completed. The vaccine just started this past Tuesday to the health care workers and the most vulnerable. We are now beginning our third lockdowm that goes to Jan 31st and could be longer. We knew this would happen because people were going to do what they wanted. Sad but true. Here's to a year of happiness and health to you as we go forward.

Happy New Year, and good health to you. No idea when vaccine will be available for me here. They've started with healthcare workers though, I'm glad to say. I'm thinking March earliest for older people not in long-term care.

Lovely views and wishes. Thank you. We are told that it will be March before anyone receives a vaccine here.
Here's to hopeful, healthy and happy years ahead.

Yes I am glad that 2020 is over and we are facing a new year in 2021, however that darn Covid is still with us so it's masks and sanitisers until it's safe. Best wishes for 2021, lots of kindness and tolerance, and good health and a vaccine!

Oh, YES, Marie, and DITTO to everything you have said. So glad you have received your first dose of the vaccine. I have no idea when I'll get mine, though the Netherlands should start their vaccinations on the 8th. 2021 has so much hope and expectation. May we all do our part to make it happen!

Yes, more light but a dreary time of year weather-wise. I don't know that we are smart enough in the U.S. to reach herd immunity. I will get my vaccine as soon as I can and hope that others do as well.

Welcome back to Blog Land!!!!

So much happiness is on display, at the coming of more daylight. And funny me, I don't agree. -smile-

I welcome the Deep Darkness of Winter. Find it soothing and cozy and enjoy the Time of Hibernation. Just me I know.

But it's lovely, to not dread this time of the year, which we have to live through anyway.

Warm Winter Wishes

Beautiful images, Marie. Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2021. My husband works in long term care administration and it's a tough time just now. So happy that the vaccine is being given to health care workers. Today is a day of pouring rain here, and it's cozy to be indoors.

So happy to hear from you again. Yes, let's all do our best to make 2021 the end of the Pandemic and the beginning of a new world. I can't wait until Joe Biden is actually in office and we can get our Country back to being a part of the big wide world. Stay safe and I look forward to all your photos and nature walks !

Since we have so much sun down here I rarely think about gray days but last week we had a couple of gray days in a row and it dawned on me that how I was feeling about it must be how folks in the northern territories must feel.

Nice photos of sky and water.
Have a blessed day!

The longer days are still not long enough for me and the chill has only just really set in. Frosts started a few days ago and the birds are not happy with solid icy water! As fast as I change it the ice is back again in minutes!
Happy New Year and keep safe, cheers Diane

Happy New Year to you! We have been having a lot of the gray, rainy weather here too. I'm always thankful that the days are getting longer now, and soon I will start preparing for another year of gardening. Many blessings to you in this New Year!

At least you experience a change of seasons there - I still have the AC on here 24/7. Every time we go out of the house, I need to take a shower when we return because I'm so sweaty, even in January!
I got my first dose of the Covid vaccine a few days ago. I'm really looking forward to feeling safer going out in the world again.
