There were a number of issues with Blogger this last few weeks. Now I am getting an uploading error because the photo limit has been reached. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how have you resolved it?
I have tried everything I know to resolve the issue to no avail. Switching to Wordpress is my next option from what I can determine.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Marie
I remember having something similar happen years ago, but I don't remember how I resolved it. It was when we used Picasa for photo sharing. I'm hoping somebody who uses LOTS of pictures might have a solution for you. Blogger is becoming very discouraging. :-(
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed Jan. A change from Blogger may be necessary in the future anyway.
DeleteSo sorry for your problems.
ReplyDeleteAs for the uploading error,in my case, I often check my Google Picasa to try not over the limit of photos.
Sorry,not Picasa. Google Album Archive.
ReplyDeleteI try to delete not uploaded photos in the archive.
I was warned about picture excess, but have no understanding. I use a lot of pictures. I also use Google. I've never been warned of a picture limit or excess. I love your pictures and hope you learn how to kee using them.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. No problems here, but you might go through your site where you upload your images. I did have that problem many years ago, and I remember deleting the really old pictures.
ReplyDeleteI did comment on the other post, but here again...I think you might have a limit of photos before you have to buy space...not sure but a guess. I always keep my photos at about 350...so I frequently "purge" my photos. I searched at google and found this page and then used this page's link and I individually delete photos. Andrea

I suspected sooner or later it would happen to you.l It happened to me a few years ago and I did not want to pay for extra space.
ReplyDeleteThis is what I did:
right click on the pic
click on Edit
Click on resize
Click on pixels
Choose horizontal 800
the vertrical will adjust by itself
Hope it helps
Correction:
ReplyDeletewhen you see the numbers for the horizontal and the vertical choose the one is higher, type 800 and the other one will adjust by itself.
Then click on the X on the top right hand corner and save.
I had that issue a number of years ago. And now pay google a small amount to be able to upload photos. And it is small. A couple of dollars a month.
ReplyDeleteThat is also my fix. I pay Google 1.99 a month for storage. I didn't want to start over somewhere else and I thought the charge was reasonable. I also know that they sometimes raise their fees as another blogger experienced that but my fee has been this amount since I started - many years ago.
DeleteI do think you upload very large images, so that could be it. I’ve yet to be warned after about 15 years, but I don’t post big images. I think I got some extra space somehow with Google Plus.
ReplyDeleteI make my photos smaller and so far havenever had a problem. Diane
ReplyDeleteI haven't been warned myself, as of yet.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had any problems Marie, I too wonder if your photos are too big pixel wise, they can sometimes take a while to download. I find out of all the choices Blogger is definitely the easiest for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the input everyone. The jury is still out on this matter. I’ll write more as it is resolved.
ReplyDeleteIt may have something to do with the resolution of your pictures also - higher resolution results in better picture quality but takes up more space (computer memory). Picture resolution is different from picture size. This explains it quite well: https://www.lib.umich.edu/files/services/exploratory/pdfs/preparingimages.pdf
ReplyDeleteGood luck with this.
