Winter clothing has been in use for a few weeks now. However the early winter gloves aren’t quite doing the job. It is time for the fleece lined leather mitts as fingers need the body heat afforded by mittens. Late autumn isn’t only on the calendar.
Last week, we had cold temperatures, high winds and rain again. It was our second week with Daisy, the golden retriever grand-dog and we walked the Confederation Trail between the raindrops again, only missing one day due to pouring rain.
but a good stick never went astray either.
After Daisy went home on the weekend, we returned to the boardwalk after more than a week away. Trees are bare now but rose bushes still have colour and rose hips which will be food for birds, squirrels, hares, foxes and coyotes over the winter.

Yes, i know about snow restricting use of the trails.
The dog thought her birthday had come! What a great time you give her.
What is it with dogs and sticks anyway?
Your grand dog is having so much fun with you!! I love the Rotary (Aspen?) trail trees. We have a few scattered Birch trees. I need to transplant some. They grow fairly fast.
Watch out, that dragon looks fierce!!
Hello,
I love all the photos of Daisy! She is having a fun time running and jumping. Great photos of the trails, the Autumn colors and berries.
Cute capture of the ducks. Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.
That is a dragon tree!
Marie, I enjoyed this post. Daisy always adds joy to your walks, even on those cold and blustery days. Her zoomies on the trail made me smile. It sounds like late autumn is settling in quickly on the Island, but your outings still look wonderful. Thanks for sharing! John
Ha. I love the dragon tree. Your pictures of tree-lined paths make me so happy. I don't get out and walk paths like that anymore but I remember walking them and your pictures bring me such great memories.
Great photos as always. You really caught some good action shots of Daisy, she's so cute. Stay warm out there!
Your weather seems to change quite dramatically. I am grumbling because it's getting colder over here this week - but I am still in my shorts! Love, love Daisy!
Such A Lovely Dog And What A Stick To Be Proud Of
Think Snow ,
Cheers
Love the Zoomies and your capturing Daisy mid jump. Perfection.
Beautiful transition photos weather wise.
Beware the Dragon !! Love it too.

Love the photos of Daisy having fun.
We have snow here, unusually staying in November when it often melts off quite soon. The walking is pretty treacherous. And more expected. It is clinging to the tree branches and is very pretty, but ... boots with cleats time.
You've had some very nasty weather. When trails get too much snow , you either cross country ski or snowshoe.
Pups and the zoomies crack me up. Winter here, been. Fall gone, gone, gone. But boy, was it ever a nice fall this year. Now though, burrrr. I like it though. That crisp cold morning BEFORE winds kick in. Ah .. peaceful.
Much chillier here too this week. Time to get out hats and gloves. Love seeing your countryside. B x
I love to see dogs running around enjoying themselves. We have had mild and cool weather, now it has turned cold, when I went out last night I wore a nice warm coat, hat and gloves!
Beautiful photos, and I especially like the one of Daisy running along the path.
Warmest regards to you.
I'm so glad you can watch your grandson's gymnastics competitions live. It's fantastic... isn't it?
Hugs
The photo with Daisy leaping in the air was a fun one, Marie. It's easy to see that she enjoys the walks as much as you and Rick...maybe even more? The trees here are looking bleak as well.
Daisy sure is having a great time! We too are winter ready, at least I think we are. The last thing we did to prepare was winterize the camper, just in time too as it will be in the teens next week!
Good to see the water hasn't iced yet, if that's what it does where you are and Daisy looks like she's getting some much needed energy out. Winter for us is a time of hibernation.
Hello Marie :)
Lovely photos of Daisy running ,jumping and digging. What a great time she had, and there is still a lot of colour to be seen in the rose bushes and rose hips for the wild life to enjoy, I enjoyed see the ducks and the beautiful tree lines paths,
All the best
Sonjia.
I sure don't have the energy that Daisy has.
you can feel daisies joy just by looking at the pictures. i have head that term before "the zoomies" i guess most dogs love to run. i hope the snow holds off for you, so you can continue to walk, it is a beautiful path. i love snow but we have not gotten much the last few winters!!
Wow! The photos of Daisy are fantastic! Beautiful pictures
While our winter weather is not as cold as yours, spring and its associated cooler temperatures does seem to be hanging around here at present. I have been glad of the stash of warm clothes I keep in my car.

I miss having a dog, so I love seeing pictures of yours, particularly when she’s running. I miss being able to run. :-)
It's fun to see Daisy having so much fun. Pure exuberance! Your photos are beautiful.
So beautiful. Daisy certainly knows how to have a fun time even if it is rainy and cold.
Daisy is such a character! I'm sure she makes the walks even more interesting.
It's nice to see a bit of colour still this late in November. Those ducks better get moving, I don't imagine winter is too far away.
There’s something heartening about your walks, even in the wind and rain, and the way you notice the small changes nature offers as the cold settles in. Daisy’s energy alongside the calm of the trails paints a lovely contrast.
I’ve just shared a new post on my page as well, and you’re welcome to stop by and read when you have a moment.
Marie, your photos are beautiful, captivating and delightful. I love ❤️ seeing happy dogs 🐕 as well.
Dogs seem to have a whole inner motivation to pick up sticks.
Dear Marie, I cannot comment on your latest post, just wanted to say that your photos are beautiful.
