Life changes

Where do I begin? Suddenly life changes and reality takes its toll.

Monday night I took my husband to the hospital. R had severe upper abdominal pain which could have been a heart attack. Over a period of 8 hours in emergency, they determined it wasn’t his heart. An MRI showed stones in his gall bladder and blocking his bile duct. Another discovery, unrelated will be dealt with later.

Surgery happened late that afternoon and problems resulted. On Friday, I took him for a procedure in Charlottetown which was unsuccessful. He is still in hospital.

I’ve had a cold for a week. This past week, I started treatment for a genetic condition which I’ve had my whole life, without my knowledge. At one point, we were both being treated in different parts of the hospital, our daughter running back and forth between us. There are definite disadvantages to being an only child.

Meanwhile we had freezing rain requiring cleats on boots and salt spread around. The next day, we had snow, enough to require shovelling. With our daughter and son-in-law’s help, I managed.

When it rains it pours!

I haven’t watched the news this week because we have enough to deal with. I am focused on our circumstances and thankful for the strength to handle what has happened thus far and I hope, for what lies ahead as well.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with so much right now! I hope your husband has a speedy recovery. And I hope your treatment(s) go well. Hopefully, the weather will be a little nicer to you too. You're wise to take a break from the news. Sometimes we need all of our mental energy to deal with our immediate circumstances.

My precious friend Marie!
Sorry doesn’t seem enough for what you have been through and shame on me for not noticing that your posts were delayed!
I am really very sorry for the troubling circumstances you have been through recently!!!
I agree with you that we can’t deal with such Intense situations until we have backing by our kind Creator 🥹 No doubt the strength and wisdom you showed throughout the whole situation was blessing from divine 🙏
I have faith he will be blessing you with same grace and energy to pass through this tunnel successfully 🤞🙏
I got teary eyes when you mentioned the difficulty of having one child when there is so much to face ! I can imagine how it must feel dear Marie, but again as because I have seen couples having many grown up kids but no one is around when needed. Here we have saying that one is like ten when wise and good and ten is none when fool of careless. So please be proud of your amazing daughter who is attending you both and dealing with all matters alone because good people have God with them 🥹🙏
I hope and pray that you both may recover soon my dear friend and so we can see you posting us about spring flourishing in your beautiful island 🙏🥹♥️
You both will be in my thoughts and prayers ♥️🙏
