A Canadian Thanksgiving

Canadians are gathered this long weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving.

We have much to be thankful for as Canadians, including the beauty of the land and the freedom and peace we enjoy. The accident of birth which placed me in this country is one of my many blessings.

On a recent visit to Greenwich National Park, we saw nature

in the early throws of its autumn beauty.

The red maple leaf, featured prominently on our national flag,

was evident up through the canopy of trees and on the ground.

It was a truly Canadian scene and an emotional moment.

Happy Thanksgiving, my fellow Canadians. We are well and truly blessed.

Your leaves are beautifully changing to autumn colors! Although Thanksgiving celebration is not familiar to the Japanese I have learned from many bloggers! Have a wonderful day!

The wind storm the past few days has taken many of the leaves now, Tomoko. Much too soon for me because I enjoy the display of colour.

Gingi, our growing season is shorter than the U.S. and the harvest is earlier.

Happy Thanksgiving, a bit late! Your pictures of the fall colors, and the beautiful maple leaf, truly beautiful! Indeed, we are so very blessed to have the freedoms we do, and thankfulness is something we should celebrate everyday. Happy to have met you Marie :)

Gorgeous pictures. You should make a time capsule and keep your pictures in it. Then when powers to be abuse and destroy the other the people from the future can see what a beautiful world we lived in.

I hope we have something of this beauty to leave for the grandkids but I fear more every day.
