Foggy dew

The city was shrouded in fog, thick as pea soup. We waited for two days to go to the Citadel in Halifax and along the coastline in Nova Scotia but the fog was persistent. We are not accustomed to this kind of fog any more but wanted to go to the Citadel. Away we went.

The Citadel stands on a hill over looking the Halifax Harbour. It was a British military fortification established after Halifax was founded in 1749. It gives a great view of the harbour, but not that day.

The photos tell the story.

You know it's foggy when...

While the Citadel was open, the museum was closed. Our visit was brief!

Can you find the Canadian flag in this photo?

Back in Prince Edward Island, life on this gentle island brings occasional mornings of fog. This spring, there have been a few days with the cloud-like mist at ground level. My husband and I ventured into that foggy dew recently to take some photos.

I much prefer the foggy dew to the pea soup.

Such a shame about the fog and the museum being closed. I love the last pic of the boat. The water reflects the light so well. Hope you have a nice week.

I think the fog gives the environment an eerie but almost pleasant feeling. I love that last picture, Marie. :-)

Too bad about the fog! The Citadel is a great place to visit. The first time I visited there it was a blazing hot summer's day. No shade to be had at the Citadel of course. My arms got burnt to a crisp -- ouch! So I guess I had the opposite problem to you, lol.

Glad you went anyway, I hadn't heard of the Citadel. Beautiful stonework in the building. I prefer the foggy dew too, gentler.

Some wonderful fog shots, Marie. The last one with the boat is my favorite. It's too bad about the museum but maybe next time you'll have better luck.

LOVE your final photo.
We are moving into fog season at the moment and, since we no longer have to drive in it, I enjoy it.
I hope your next visit has the museum open for business.

Fog is a way of life for many people. I am glad not to be one of them, Mildred.

I like the last one too, Jan.

The citadel is a place of extremes by the sound of it, Debra.

You can't let the weather stop you I guess, Celia.

The elements can provide some challenges for photographs, Bill.

Driving in the fog in Newfoundland is so dangerous, EC. Like you, I am glad to avoid it.

I like the scenes where the sun is trying to break through the fog, Debbie. The light brings some focus to the scene.

I love misty/foggy images Marie, we unfortunately don't get much fog here and when we do it's really early in the morning when I don't have the will to get up and take photos.. next time ☺ I bet there were many a soldier in times long ago sitting up in the Citadel looking out at misty views just like this!

Making the best of a situation, beautiful pictures! The fog definitely adds character to the photos!

A disappointment that at least resulted in some very nice, mystical looking photos.

Imagine a ship trying to sail into the harbour in that fog. The citadel was safe enough in that weather.

I love the misty fog photos, Marilyn!

The fog made us look beyond the obvious, Judith.
