Repeat

We walk the boardwalk in Summerside regularly, but there is always something new to see.

The fiddleheads are unfurling this week.

This song sparrow was giving his best pose to the passing crowd. He is a testament to symmetry.

A white-crowned sparrow is a visitor to the island, on his way to the breeding grounds in the northern boreal forests.

An angry grackle demanded attention.

The jays soon will be harder to see in the trees.

The mourning dove had ruffled feathers.

Squirrels will eat sunflower seeds when peanuts aren't available.

Until next time...

Where is your favourite place to walk?

I love seeing the variety of birds and the fiddleheads are fun to see. Squirrels are really cute, from a distance! lol
We walk our little dog on our dead end street but it is rather hilly and not comfortable for me. We have a small park in the center of our small town that is level and I love walking there.

Beautiful. I walk Mill Creek, a small stream that comes out of the hills and runs through our town, just outside of town are paths on both sides with a couple of interconnecting footbridges. Usually all you can hear is the water and birds. Right now there are goats munching off the blackberry bushes from the banks, some mom's with little kid goats. Very peaceful and pretty, not urban or wild.

the birds are really beautiful and the squirrel is doing what they always do, eat seeds, nuts or whatever they can scrounge up. :)
Nice photos Marie and have a wonderful week ahead.

My favorite place is anywhere in the wilds of the world.

The fiddleheads are gorgeous - as are all the birds.
Walking near water is probably my favourite, but there is a lot to be seen everywhere if I keep my eyes, heart and mind open.

I agree that it is all gorgeous. I don't have a favorite walk, but several! :-)

It is great to have a favourite walking spot in your town, Mildred. I prefer a walk on a trail than in a neighbourhood but they are both great!

The ones we buy are from New Brunswick, Debra. They are delicious.

The birds are my new favourite subjects, Debbie.

Great dea to have goats cutting the grass. Your walking spot sounds great, Celia.

The squirrels will ignore the seeds if peanuts are around, Bill. I had never seen them eat the sunflower seeds.

I prefer the wilds too, Tabor, though a walk through the neighbourhood can be interesting sometimes too.

Marie Smith said...

I so agree, EC. The same walk can be different every time! It depends on the walker.

If I lived in your area, I think it would be hard to pick a favourite too, Jan. It would be like trying to pick a favourite beach here!

Around Thanksgiving, I started burning scented candles for the holidays. My cat begin to develop a stopped up nose, runny eyes, etc. She continued to get worse. I thought real hard about anything different and stopped burning the candles and she was fine. I asked the vet and she said candles are terrible for most cats.

That looks like a very good place to walk. When a person gets to see even a little nature it's a very good thing. Birds and squirrels are some of my favorites. They're so interesting for anyone who really pays attention.

Love your wee feathered friends Marie, super shots they flit around so much it's tricky to catch them. The squirrel is a delight ☺

The key with birds is taking the time to observe them. Retirement helps I have found, Ratty.

The birds along the boardwalk are familiar with people, so photographing them is a breeze compared to those in the wild. I have not mastered zoom lens photography yet.

Amazing, Mildred. Thanks for answering.
