Our daughter called a few days ago about the golden grand-dog. Georgie had disappeared from the yard. My husband and I left immediately to help look for her.
The previous day, we had seen a fox run past our daughter’s house and were thankful Georgie wasn’t out at the time. Chances are she would have ignored the electronic collar to chase after that fox. We suspected that’s what happened this time.
We love Georgie and were worried about her because there is a busy road in the area. Georgie had never dodged traffic and would chase a snowflake, oblivious to all else.
As we searched, we reminisced about our many walks and hikes this past year with her. On lead
and off,
Georgie loved every minute, especially the treats she always received after a bowl of water while we had lunch.
Georgie always managed to find the muddiest places and puddles, just like a young child.
Bath time was inevitable afterwards.
On this particular day, a friend found Georgie, safe, across the busy road in someone’s yard. She was eager to go with him and when she arrived home, was anxious to go inside, wet and cold as she was.
After a quick shower,
she spent the rest of the day by the fire while her family sighed in relief.

So so glad he was found and is safe at home. I lost a beloved dog once. He knew his way around the neighborhood and would often walk to my husband's nearby store. One day I put him out and he just never came home. It broke my heart and still does. I still think of him all the time. When I see a missing dog on facebook my heart breaks for them. So glad Georgie is back home.
So glad she's okay. Georgie looks like an adorable happy dog. :-)
Glad that Georgie's OK. A friend of mine had a dog that could, and often did, escape from anywhere but somehow always returned, often muddied and occasionally bloodied. That dog had many adventures and survived them all. The name of the dog was "Lucky".
Oh thank goodness Georgie was safe Marie.. I was holding my breath there for a while ☺

I know the feeling all to well. Builders let our beagle out of the gates some years ago in South Africa, They tried to chase him which in turn terrified him and he disappeared. We eventually found him on a busy main road ducking the traffic. He was so frightened and we had a huge job to coax him to come to us. Thankfully all was well and the builders were a lot more careful afterwards though we did keep him in the house more as well!

Phew! Glad there was a happy ending to this post! Georgie is about the same colour of golden I had as a kid. Hopefully no more adventures like that for Georgie!
Oh, I'm so glad she was found safe and sound. It's like loosing part of the family.
As I read on, I was hoping there would be a happy ending, and it was. Glad for everyone, a happy dog and a happy family. Georgie would be glad to celebrate her return with a special treat. :)

It seems that a bit of the wolf lingers in his genome. The call of the wild as it were.
I am glad Georgie was found safely, and I'm surprised that she was only a bit cold and wet. My grand-dog Tessa's favourite fun is to roll in horsey=poo, the wetter and stinkier the better. And there's lots of high quality horsey-poo when we go walking in the forest. And then I have to take her home in my clean car! GRRRRRRR
Georgie kind of resembles my old dog Tilly, especially the bathtub picture.

I'm glad Georgie made it home safe and sound. It's the worst feeling when you're walking around looking for a beloved pet imagining all of the terrible things that might have happened to them. So glad this story had a happy ending.
