It did not last long, less than five minutes. The cloud cover dropped the ceiling so that the heavens appeared much closer than on a clear day.
The sky's blue gray hue was reflected off the land and sea.
It felt magical.
Indian Head Lighthouse at the mouth of the harbour at Summerside, Prince Edward Island, was a speck in the distance, framed by the naked stems and branches of young trees.
The island sandstone, was an anchor for the scene, a more artistic use than its usual erosion prevention.
Then the sky started to brighten, as the clouds began to part and the usual sky blue appeared in patches. The sun threatened a breakthrough as well which was not welcome on this particular occasion.
You could feel the ceiling lift as the sky continued to clear. The moment was gone.
Lacking a view finder, my camera's LCD screen was useless in this light. Point and shoot were my only options and using the zoom was tricky. I am pleased with the resulting photos despite my screen blindness. However, there is a screen protector in my future.

Your photos show that your place is in the midst of the cold! But the blue sky appearing in the gray makes me happy. I have never experienced that snow landscape in my real life. Snow view is always beautiful.
I am now in "the New Interest in Life" of Anne of Green Gables. I am struggling but it is fun!! Have a happy new week.
Dramatic is the word.
I use a bit of bent card when I'm taking video with the DSLR. The screen is hopeless and even worse if one wants to adjust focus whilst filming. I can magnify the screen but by the time I have it's too late.
Looks chilly!
Love these pictures, and I hear what you are saying about that lack of a viewfinder. My favorite one is the last. :-)
Pretty photos. So blue and you can just feel the cold. I can just feel the wind freezing my nose walking along the beach.
Whau! Beautiful. I have never seen a lighthouse close up. Gray skies has its beauty and when the clouds are very low it is indeed beautiful!
The snow scape was beautiful that day!
Anne and her friends are entertaining. It is a Canadian story for certain.
I hope the screen protector helps. I hate "shooting" blindly.
Cold but beautiful that day.
That day the air felt electric!
It was cold but we hardly notice it most of the time when we are walking.
The air was charged that day!
Simply beautiful Marie! You are fortunate to live there! Andrea
I do feel the magic.. beautiful scenes, you've captured. I can't shoot without a viewfinder either.. no matter the conditions. It simply has to be up against my eye or it's not a shot!
Andrea, it is beautiful. We are very lucky.
I hope the screen protector helps.
