The Nest

Last Monday I wrote about our resident song sparrows. We didn't see the birds for the remainder of the week, so we checked to find the nest.

It is the straw at the center left of the picture.

The birds are long gone now, but not forgotten. Maybe they will return another year.

  1. Nice little residence, it looks like it could be lived in again. :-)

  2. I'm not sure about sparrows but they will probably return. I know our robins and bluebirds do, anyway.

    1. We were fortunate to have them around a few weeks this year. Another year would be a real bonus.

  6. How I envy having birds nest in your yard. We have many varieties visit but because there are so many egg stealing squirrels around, they prefer to set up house elsewhere.
I hope your visitors come back.
