Patridgeberries, known as lingonberries in Scandanavia, grew along the cliffs of Maddox Cove when I was young and I picked them every September with my Aunt Esther, my Uncle Ned's wife. We enjoyed each other's company and our time together, walking along the shore, looking for berries, avoiding the dangerous cliff-side. Today that shoreline is part of the East Coast Trail.
Jam requires scones,
or tea buns as we call them.
And so it was. Tea buns and partridgeberry jam with coffee or tea if you prefer.

Jam is so good; haven't had much of it lately, but yummy~!
For only a short time I found imported lingonberries in jars at the grocery store and I much preferred them over cranberries but cranberries grow in abundance in the bogs north of us so that's what we eat in Ontario.
I'm sure the jam is delicious on the biscuits - and I grew up calling them tea biscuits. :-)

The sad reality is I still use the dishes. Many people have discarded them long ago. I could not justify discarding perfectly good dishes.

We call them Loganberries in the UK. That scone looks very tempting, what a shame I can't reach through the screen and steal it!
I don't believe I have ever had any of these. They look good. I will have to look and see if I can find something at the grocery store.

I don't know if they grow in the US, Emma. They are for more northern climates I believe. Maybe Alaska?
