Every second Saturday, I take my five year old granddaughter to her ballet class. The forty-five minute wait gives me little time to do much, so when weather permits, I walk on the nearby boardwalk.
Last Saturday morning, it was foggy. Fog over a snowy landscape is not common here but when it happens, it is a calm, damp day.
The views from the gazebo
and the bridge were limited as I headed out.
As I proceeded, the fog began to dissipate, making the lighthouse across the harbour just visible through the mist.
Can you see the lighthouse?
Twenty minutes later, when I arrived back at the bridge, there was a noticeable difference in the view.
It doesn’t take long for fog to disappear when conditions are right.

fog is so pretty in my opinion, and a great event in which to take pictures!! i'm glad you kept snapping, even when you couldn't post, these captures are beautiful!!...and yes, i was able to see the lighthouse!!!
You have nice views from and near your place.
I like the fog, makes lovely photos....I just don't like driving in the thick fog.
There is no background, and hazy foreground. Fun pictures.
Fog provides the opportunity to take great pictures like these.
So we have a ballerina in the making...
Ugh, damp cold is the WORST.
We just had some very thick fog the other day. Usually you can see the town from the harbour but not that day. I love fog, it offers you a different perspective. Your temps are a lot colder than ours but fog is fog and your photos are fantastic.
We had a little fog a few mornings ago. I wish I had your presence of mind and had taken photos.
Loved wandering with you.
I can barely see that lighthouse.
Lovely that you get brakes likethat.
I could see the lighthouse, all right. I am very accustomed to fog here, and I often think it makes things looks pretty and soft. :-)
Thats a very different set of conditions to those I see when waiting for ballet to end - but at least I get an hour and ten minutes. I do like the pale tones of the pictures.

I love winter fog, it is so very peaceful. I had to drive a considerable distance in the fog a week ago, and even though I made sure to be extra-alert, it was like humming along in my own little world.
That fog looks bone chilling. We don't get much fog so I don't know much about it but it sure looks cold.
Love foggy mornings, we don't get too many here unfortunately. I love the shots from your walk Marie, but I love even more that you get to take your granddaughter to her ballet lessons, I'm a big bit envious 😊
I can see the lighthouse. But wow, look at that fog!
Fog I can handle but not the snow, but both make fabulous photos. Take care Diane
A beautiful walk, aren't we lucky to have changeable weather that gives us a chance to see things differently? Sarah x
