Favourites of autumn

Soon we will be past peak colour here on Prince Edward Island for this autumn. My husband and I have been outdoors most days on the trails and pathways enjoying the spectacle while it lasts. Besides, time in nature is good for our physical and mental health.

The scenes which follow are a compilation of photos from the various trails we have frequented the last two weeks.

Claude Monet had a hand in this scene.

Sometimes we gaze upward with mouths agape.

Other times the forest floor draws our attention.

The trails draw us onward.

A stop to look into the trees is a must.

A golden setting is a perfect place for a picnic.

The countryside from the hills of Strathgartney is special.

The yellow walls of Bonshaw make us stop and stare.

Nature continues to amaze us.

Glorious, glorious autumn! Sheer magic! You describe exactly how I felt when I experienced my first 'full' autumn, last year.I recognised the Strathgartney view and I'm sure I have sat at that picnic table. Definitely one like it. Thank you.

And all it will take is a rainy windy day and all those leaves will be gone! I have been enjoying the colours in the forest trails too. Nature is wonderful at this time of year.

Hello,

What a pretty walk, the trees and colors are gorgeous. I like the shadows on the trail. It looks like it could be our fire road near my home. Nature is amazing1 Take care, enjoy your new week!

Amazing colour. Our Autumn is rather reluctant to really get going this year; I think it needs some overnight frost to really get into the swing. I love every one of your photos.

Enjoyed the colors and the views. Our fall colors are behind schedule, leaves falling but mostly green. I love the little roofed picnic table. Like a fairy tale in the woods.

Nature is amazing but we have to be able to see it. Many people go right by and miss it.

Wonderful colours! We dont not get as wide spread a colour change in our plants here - and most of the ones that do change are not Australia!

As you say, fall is just about over and now it's time to prepare for what lies ahead, including a resurgence of the pandemic I suspect. Winter may be a challenging time in more than the normal weather-associated fashion.

You have such beautiful trees and colors. Autumn isn't as spectacular here, so thanks for sharing all the photos.

Wonderful autumn shots. We're past the peak here. I think I've taken my last formal autumn shots, but I might be wrong in that regard.

Magnificent! You have certainly captured the beauty of this season. The trees here in Philadelphia area look similar right now with yellows, oranges and reds. Such a pretty season.

I think Monet would have loved all those scenes, with their tangled mixtures of vibrant colours. Simply beautiful :)
