A few weeks ago, a fellow blogger*
https://pattietierney.blogspot.com asked about the most unusual thing my husband and I have seen on our walks around the island. After giving it some thought, and talking with my husband about it, we decided the most unusual thing is a horizonless sky.
Such a sky occurs when, due to atmospheric conditions, sea/land and sky blend together and appear as one. Fog can cause such conditions, sometimes resulting in a white out or a scene like below:
Snow can do the same as we see here on Prince Edward Island when drifts of snow cross the open fields.
So, we see horizonless skies periodically but the most unusual one was this shot of two fishing boats headed out Bedeque Bay in Summerside in April of 2017. The sea was calm and the cloudless sky reflected in the water. The wake of the boats disturbed the surface of the water behind them. But ahead…

I choose to see the world this way. The reality of the threats we face in the world today can be overwhelming. I am aware but choose to focus on a better future and work towards it.

That’s wonderful. I know a photographer who does seascapes something like this as fine art. He will take an ordinary photo and work with it until he creates what he wants.
Wonderful photos, and a great outlook on life. We've seen horizonless skies occasionally and I find them mysterious and a bit disconcerting. My eye constantly seeks that line.
your ps is amazing, i could not have said it better myself. i am aware that i am living in the gut of the nightmare, but i stay focused on the good!! i have not been outside the house (except for hanging out the window) and i could not be happier!! i am not stuck here, i live here, i love here!! no one, nothing can change that!! as for those beautiful images today, wow, what a sight to see. i wish i could sail away to to boundless , endless possibilities!! i am going over to see patty, she sounds like someone i would enjoy!!

Wonderful photos! It's a perspective few people who live in landlocked areas ever see. I'm trying to recall if I've seen anything like it on a cruise, and it would have to be when we were in the heavy fog off the California coast. We come close when we're in a white-out due to heavy snow too.
Yes ... I choose to look forward and focus on what's ahead. It is not always easy but that's my goal.
Your horizonless photos ate stunning. I think that the "Flat-Earth" people might think these photos prove their point. (:0)
