A sense of well being

Now that school is finished, we can go for excursions with our daughter and the grandchildren during the week on days when she’s not working. This week, we went to Cavendish Grove, where we had a picnic of course. While it was cold, only 14 C with a breeze requiring a jacket, the trees were in their full summer glory. It’s been a long time coming!

At one of the picnic tables we enjoyed the company and the green glow of the trees.

That glow is good for the soul. I never feel as well as I do when I’m in such a setting. The air is fresh and clean, as each tall beauty spreads its shimmering arms, as if shielding me from harm.

The day was overcast so the arborous glow wasn’t from direct sunlight but rather the cloud covered sunlight filtered through the leaves.

While the kids played after lunch,

the adults sat and chatted as we enjoyed the relaxation and rejuvenation. Then we walked the trails, as the children filled the air with chatter.

It doesn’t get any better than this.
