Today you can find a costume for every character imaginable.
Our granddaughters want to be Bat Girl and Skye from Paw Patrol this year. Bat Girl I can imagine but not Skye. We shall see them later today.
The farms nearby decorate for Thanksgiving and Hallowe'en.
These pictures are from a local orchard, a farm and pumpkin patch.
They show some of the colour and images we like.
When I was young, Hallowe'en nights were cold. As the sun set, my brother and I went door to door in our neighbourhood in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. It felt magical, especially when the moon came from behind the clouds to help light the way across the lawns and driveways.
Enjoy the fun of the children today through the lens of your own fond memories. And as our daughter said when she was a small child, "Happy Hallow-treating!"

I really miss the farms this year. We used to go in years past with the grandkids, but their lives are too busy these days.
We haven't had trick-or-treaters in years, but now we have kids in the neighborhood. We even decorated around the door. Love the pictures, thank you.

Happy Halloween, that is quite a pumpkin patch! I was only reading an article the other day saying how much money is now spent on Halloween these days. Gone is the simple pleasures of the children dressing up in net curtains and frightening my husband when he returns from work! Sarah x
Sadly we don't have "trick or treaters" now. According to the do-gooders it's not safe for youngsters to be out at night knocking on strange doors.

Happy Halloween Marie. Our street started out with 40-50 kids in 1997 when we moved in and tonight I had a grand total of 10.
The same happened on our street in Newfoundland. However, it was changing again as the older people moved out of the neighbourhood and young families moved in there again.
I was just saying on another blog that it's amazing what Halloween has become since I was a kid.
I heard it is second only to Christmas for spending, AC.

The Dutch don't celebrate Halloween, Marie, so I haven't "seen" Halloween for the last 6 years or so...except for THIS year. We went to America a bit later than usual (because g'son Nicholas no longer goes to the fair) and were lucky to be there for Halloween. How fun to see the fun again. :) I especially like the creativity of the display in your last image.
