Caitlin, our granddaughter, is turning five. She is a tiny girl, capable for her age and loves to dance.
Caitlin enjoys games, crafts, stories, puzzles and all the little girl things of the day, such as Shopkins. She adores her older sister, Sylvie,
and is a awesome big sister to baby Owen.
She also loves her best friend Elliotte.
Caitlin was the baby of the family for four years but has been the middle child for nine months now. It is easy to be eclipsed by your siblings, especially when you are the quiet one. Since the baby receives lots of attention and the older sister is a verbal fireball, Caitlin had to re-establish her position in the family this past year. While her mother has been on maternity leave and as the oldest child at home during the day, Caitlin has blossomed and found her voice.
Her grandfather and I love alone days with Caitlin. We do activities she enjoys which include feeding the animals along the boardwalk. Having time when she alone controls the activities and makes the decisions such as where we’ll have lunch, are times she loves.
Every now and then, Caitlin says something you know she’s thought about for a while. Of her little brother she said, “He’s a nice boy but he’s too little.” Owen cannot play with her yet.
Caitlin has empathy in abundance. Her sister was dressed in a costume for a special day at school and excited about the costume and the event. Caitlin, watching the scene, said to her mother, “I am so happy for Sylvie, Mommy.”
This sweet little five year old has a special place in our hearts. Happy birthday sweetie! We love you to the moon and back.

What a sweet little girl! Happy birthday to her!
Caitlin is adorable Marie, oh my gosh, five already! How the time flies when you're having fun! I do relate being a middle child myself, can be tricky territory at times ☺
Oh, so cute!
A lovely little girl you have for a granddaughter, Happy birthday to her.
Yes, Happy Birthday, Caitlin. Five is very, very special.
Hmm it appears like your website ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I'll just sum
it up what I submitted and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to the whole thing.
Do you have any tips and hints for inexperienced blog writers?
I'd really appreciate it.
What a beautiful, smart and thoughtful young lady you have as a granddaughter!! What a blessing she is for the whole family! Happy birthday to her!!
Happy birthday to your darling little girl! : )

Caitlin is a sweetheart, Jan.
She is indeed, Debra.
The middles are a gift for sure, PDP.
Yes indeed, William.
She is one of our greatest treasures, Bill.
It is for sure, Joanne.
Anonymous,
I am hardly an expert of blogging. I combine my interest in a little writing with photography. I would suggest:
Have a purpose and stick to it.
Write what you know.
Write regularly...a tough one sometimes.
Follow other bloggers and make comments on their blogs. You’ll learn a lot about blogging from them, get ideas and enjoyment.
Keep writing.
Enjoy!
Caitlin is one of our greatest joys in life, Angela.
Thank you, Catarina.
How fortunate we are to have grandchildren, AC.
awww, my heart feels warm, what a dear, sweet child. they think deeply and love unconditionally, even if you can't play with them!! hehehe
she is beautiful and i am sure you enjoy your alone time with her doing activities which are perfect, just for a five year old!! i don't have any grandchildren but i do have 2 great nieces that i adore!!!
You must be very proud of her. Cheers Diane
Grandchildren are the most wonderful beings on the planet! Mine are growing up.... now 10, 8 and 2x6. I miss those little people, but the big people are fun too.
I hope you have grandchildren some day, Debbie. Oh the joy that awaits you.
We are indeed, Diane!
We’ve got to enjoy every minute, Shammi, as they grow up too fast!
It takes quite a bit of self-awareness to be able to recognize one's emotions, in this case joy for someone else's happiness, and then put it into words - and she is just five. Imagine as she grows older! What a lovely little person. I wish her all the best on her birthday and in the years ahead.
The younger members of a family are always fun.
Happy birthday Caitlin!
Your granddaughter is so adorable,Marie.
This is the most beautiful and elegant tribute to your granddaughter. I hope you save it somewhere so when she reaches the stage where she has no confidence in herself, she can look back and see the lovely things said about her.
She is a sweetheart in every way, Jenny.
They sure are, Ratty.
Thank you, Tomoko.
We will pass the posts about the children on to them, Barbara.
She is beautiful and has such a sweet spirit. I know you love the times you share with her.
We love our times with her, Mildred!
