It was a confluence of meteorological events, a sunny and calm, foggy, frosty day. One we have never seen in this combination. My husband and I were headed out to our daughter’s house, IPhone in hand, but we stopped along the way to take in the scenes.
A pine tree in its frosty spendor looked cold.
A stop by the park was in order on such a day. The sunlight on the frost-laden trees gave importance to every twig against the blue sky.
The white trunk of a birch glowed in the glorious sunlight.
This maple tree had a foggy backdrop.
A tree-lined street invited a photograph and a walk.
We may never see this combination of events again but the natural beauty was committed to memory and much appreciated.

Those are so pretty, especially the final photo.
I would not mind walking on that street and stop often to photograph.
:)
Not just committed to memory but preserved in pictures and shared with people like me who admire it, too. Thank you for this delightful post. I especially love the last picture. :-)
As beautiful as it is, this girl is simply not hardy enough to manage your winters. You are a better woman than I. Great pics as usual♥
That last shot is spectacular!
Wow so beautiful but it looks soooooooo cold! That tree-lined street is worth framing it is stunning. Keep warm and have a good Easter. Diane
Hoarfrost is the term, if I'm not mistaken. Beautiful!
Beautiful! We have had fog and hoard frost a few times recently too, I love hoar frost and always try to stop for some photos.
Amazing. From beautiful dark blue to misty Gray. Beautiful but unusual day.
What an absolutely GLORIOUS day. Thank you so much for taking us along to share a smidgeon of the wonder and the beauty.
Simply beautiful, Marie. They're all my favorites!
Marie, your tree photos are so wonderful. That frost and mist makes for great photos.
Magnificent trees, thank you for putting them for us to see.
wow, wow, wow, they are all stunning but that last one really does belong in a frame!!
Simply beautiful pictures, Marie! Andrea
How gorgeous! Committed to memory -- and to camera, lucky for us :)
Spectacular scenery, you may wait a long time for those meteorological conditions to coincide again. I saw something like it once but on a day with no snow, just thick frost on every twig.
So pretty! I especially love the tree-lined street.
It’s my favourite too AC.
I’d like to go with you Catarina.
It is great to take you along, Jan, even if only through Blogger.
I believe it is all a matter of what you are accustomed to Linda. I couldn’t manage the heat where you live!
Thank you Debra. It was a magical few minutes.
It is indeed William. I debated using the term in the title.
That frost is rare and beautiful. Worth a look any time it appears, that’s for sure.
It was indeed Barbara. Pretty and special.
It was indeed EC. You’re welcome.
Thanks Bill. I love each of them too.
Thanks Barb. I enjoy your photos as well!
They are magnificent dressed in the frost, Celia.
Thank you Debbie. I think I will frame the last one.
Thank you Andrea.
It was a soecial morning, Jenny.
I just came in from a lovely 72 degree day ... only to be transported to your frozen scenes. All on the same continent but so different. Lovely.
It is rare indeed John.
It is so cold and beautiful, Mildred.
Your weather sounds wonderful to me, Ginnie.
Absolutely unforgettable, Marie! We had one such day on December 30, 2016, and from one of those images I made our Christmas card for this past Christmas. So I know exactly what you mean. I wonder if I'll ever see anything like it again. I'm so glad YOU saw it, too.
Gorgeous winter images Marie but oh my gosh, that last shot is a stunner, j'adore!
The pictures are absolutely beautiful!
It is glorious, isn’t it, Ginnie?
That street shot was special to experience, PDP.
Thank you Danielle.
Wow that looks wonderful, how lucky you were to see that for real! I had to smile at the clear road it wouldn't look like that if we had that snowfall here! Sarah x
It’s a way of life here, Sarah, so we are organized around the snow.
