Ahhh...spring, when an islander’s thoughts turn to fog. That’s what I was thinking during our 9 a.m. walks on the boardwalk this past week. We don’t have a lot of fog on Prince Edward Island but we had some every day last week.
Fog is a genteel visitor, faintly covering the harbour on occasion, adding an element of beauty to the familiar Front Range Light. She adds a sense of mystery to the landscape on a beautiful sunny day, when she creeps onshore.
Other times, fog is ostentatious, blocking our view of familiar landmarks, as she asserts her presence.
Her long finger stretches forth in this photo from Saturday. Fog sits at the surface of the harbour, slowly stretching over the land she encounters.
The Indian Head Lighthouse at the entrance of the harbour knows all about fog.
It has endured all of her moves and moods for 140 years. Fog nor her sister ice are no match for this seasoned sentinel.
Fog adds another element of beauty to nature.

Fog isn't something we see a lot of on the prairies, but occasionally it makes itself known.
I love fog, and your pictures demonstrate why. Thank you for this lovely post. :-)
Hello,
I love the lighthouses, lovely captures of the foggy scenes.
Take care, have a happy day!
No matter what it's always so beautiful. Thank you for always sharing your fantastic photos with us!
To me, "she" is always beautiful.
And I prefer to call fog, 'Dragon's Breath.'

Wonderful foggy photos of land and sea.
I am a fog fan, and am looking forward to the first of the seasons. Thank you for this beautiful tribute to it.
Thank You So Much For Exploring The Area And Capturing These Images - Absolutely Beautiful
Cheers
The fog is absolutely beautiful to see. Awesome photos, Marie and thanks for sharing.
I totally agree that fog just adds another form of beauty to nature.
Fog is a common occurrence here but I still find it beautiful to watch as it sends tendrils creeping across the landscape, or when it starts to rise to meet the glow of the sun and rolls itself into giant banks of mist before slowly disappearing.
Lovely.
Beautiful shots of the dramatic yet soothing landscape you live in. We get fog in the fall here. Rarely lasts all day.
Oh my! These are beautiful and the palette you are using just leaves me drooling.
We have had fog, but it is not, sigh, photogenic, being caused by the drift of warm air above dirty melting slushy snowbanks.
Awesome photos of the area with fog.
Lovely foggy shots!
Catch it while you can; sunshine around the corner!
as long as we can see ahead, yes, fog is part of nature beauty....
lovely light house, stand up for 140 years.... great.
Have a wonderful day
You must be in PEI when you can get two lighthouses in one post. :)
Beautiful shots!
I find most of the foggy days we do get tend to have the fog concentrated on the rivers.
Fog! Such a simple word but can one that can act so dramatically!
A beautifully written and photographed post. Thank you, Marie.
Back for a second tour. I love the fifth shot the most, I think, but they are all splendid.
I note you have a shot slot. Good stuff!
Your lovely foggy photos are a mixed blessing. So pretty but cold looking, a reminder that winter still has the upper hand for awhile yet. I hope that we will soon be enjoying some pretty colors to photograph. Yellow would be most welcome. 💖
Fog can be agreeable at times, but it is a bit of a curse when you are visiting a place for the first time, and it might be the only time, and every view is blocked by fog. I know a fellow who has visited the Cabot Trail in NS and had this misfortune on three occasions.
fog + water = awesome images!!
things are looking quite lovely there as you begin to thaw out!! i really enjoy seeing your lighthouse, she is a beauty!!
Fog can be beautiful in a ghostly, eerie way.
You certainly capture all the nuances of fog.
I love the way you describe every aspect of it.

Oh, Marie...these are all wonderful shots. I love foggy shots, anyway. It improves almost any scene!
I absolutely agree Marie, beautiful captures here. The lighthouse looks splendid shrouded there on it's lookout spot. We don't often get fog here but when we do the keen photographers are out and about making the most of it 💙
your poetic analogy is captivating just like these magnificent images dear Marie
yes curiosity seems fitting to the nature of fog :)
