We had a few windy and rainy days this past week which kept us inside but our weather has been lovely the last few days. On Saturday, we decided to go to the head of the bay to see if the Bald Eagles were in residence.
Along the way, we stopped at a section of the boardwalk near the marina to walk by the bay. This area still has ice as does the protected water of the marina.
By April, boats will start to fill the marina for another season.
Along the way, the Indian Point Lighthouse is visible in the distance and at first glance, looks like an addition to the wharf.
There are piles of snow yet to melt in this area but people were out enjoying the setting on the beautiful blue sky day, oblivious to the snow nearby.
In this section of boardwalk, you pass the shed of the sailing school and a boat is part of the Package Deal.
Meanwhile, the Bald Eagles at the head of the bay were in the top of the tree where I had seen one perched previously.
Both were alert, in close proximity to their nest. I wonder how long before we see eaglets over the top of the nest?
On the bay, a small flock of Canada Geese stayed together near the shoreline. The geese looked to be enjoying the day as much as we were.
We may head further from home if the weather stays mild next week.

oooooh the eagles, the majestic eagles, they are spectacular!! hopefully soon there will be eggs in their nest and then babies!! all of your pictures are really beautiful today but the first one is as spectacular as those eagles. walking weather will soon be upon you!!
and package deal!! what a great name for a boat. i assume if you want the man, you get the boat, "package deal"!!
Looking forward to reading about your next outing. )
Oh wow - eagles and two of them. I did see one flying here Saturday. Sometimes if you are not looking well you can take them for our turkey vultures but this one had a white head. Such magnificent birds. We too have Canada Geese and they are getting ready to raise their young. Beautiful pictures. Have a delightful week.
Bald Eagles are always special, Marie. It doesn’t matter how often you see them they never lose that aura of majesty. Well, when they’re trying to steal a fish from an Osprey maybe they don’t look so noble!
Spectacular views, especially the ice still in the Bay.
Love the Eagles and look forward to updates about eaglets in that nest.
Your area is so full of wonderful nature.
All I am seeing is weeds growing and being out of control. It is getting harder for us to get rid of them.. Hopefully we can get out there and pull a few sometime this week.
Seems there is always something.

So special that you have eagles close by that you can go and see. I think the closest ones near here are way over on Lake Huron where the nuclear plant water outflow keeps the ice from forming. That also looks like a beautiful waterfront.
Isn't it lovely to have a bit of sunshine? Your views this time are different but just as lovely and interesting.
Great eagles photo.
Eagle nests are amazingly huge.
Great photos. Thanks for taking me/us along your marina walk!
So wonderful for you to have clear blue skies and more comfortable weather. Lovely to see this end of the boardwalk and, as always, wonderful images. Majestic eagles and contented geese.
Our snow is in the mountain
to be able to see the eagles out in open space would be so much fun. I would love it. Thanks for sharing, that water looks so COLD.
There is nothing like those early nice days in late winter. But we've reverted back to the cold lately.
Happy Spring!
Beautiful pictures.
The dock is kind of scary with the water so close.
What wonderful views of sea and ice and eagles. We've had a warm few days but tomorrow will be cooler again. Still, spring is not far off. Soon you'll be back to your walks and explorations.
Great to read and see, Marie, that the weather improved so that you could get outdoors and share these wonderful images. The eagles were wonderful to see once again. We are looking forward to our spring visit to PEI.
Hello,
It is nice to get out and enjoy the good weather. Great captures of the Eagle pair. I like the lighthouse and marina, beautiful views of the water. Take care, enjoy your day!
I am always in awe when I see your photos of the eagles which I never see in the wild. Glad you are warming up and can enjoy the outdoors even more.
As usual, the bald eagles and the Canada geese 'steal the show'.
Ah, what great photos. And the eagles! Can't wait to see if there will be babies.
Burr on the ice, since we have seen 80 degree temps already. Love seeing the update on eagles...
I bet the fisherman and boaters are anxious to get back out on the water, hopefully the ice leaves soon!
Hi Marie, I had to stop and just enjoy the third image … the giant stack of snow and the dry docked boat. All of that and the beautiful blue sky … a promise of “more comfortable” weather ahead. 😊 Also, in the next image, gotta smile about the Package Deal. Love the eagle pics! Thanks, as always, for sharing Island Musings! John
Where you live, Marie, in your neck of the woods, as we say, there is so much to see...especially of nature. I love when you share it like this. Soon the ice will be gone and you'll feel like Spring really is here.
such wonderful photos! Seeing those eagles reminds me of the ospreys down the coast who live on top of a big transmission tower (I think), and every year you get to see their babies peeping over the top of the nest. So marvellous.
The photos are so lovely! Seeing the bald eagles in the proximity of their nest is amazing. The Canada Geese look beautiful in the water - I'm not nearly as big a fan when I have to walk a path through their droppings. :)
Thank you for sharing your walks on the boardwalk.
Hello Marie:=)
That wonderful blue sky beckoned you outside, and I'm so pleased you took advantage of the warmer weather and shared your photos with us. My attention was drawn to the Sailing School shed and the Package Deal boat,:=) "and what an attractive boat it is, seen from the side and back".It will be nice to see other boats in the marina come Spring. Lovely capture of the Canada Geese and Bald Eagles.
All the best
Sonjia.
The sky so blue and bright. Love the shot of the eagles.
glory of this splendid day shines through your shots Marie !
we often find our sky blue here but i know the blue sky appeals far more when weather is cool
