The colours, sizes and shapes are varied but each is perfect in its own way. My friend Lucy has a beautiful garden in the countryside of Prince Edward Island and the many bushes and blooms are a feast for the eyes. Among my favourites are the day lilies.
There are yellows galore,
even tall yellow ones with spots. My favourite.
Others are pretty in pink, from the hint of pink with a ruffled center,
to the deeper colour with a yellow-green center,
Some have crimpled petals,
while other petals are long and slender.
Some of the most unusual are bi-colour, or tri-colour.
There is an orange lily
and plum coloured ones, to name a few.
Don't get me started on the variety of sedums.
So lovely! Thank you for showing me such a variety. :-)
I like daylilies because they are hardy and do well in a part of my garden by the driveway where not much else will thrive. Sadly, they are done for the year.
They are beautiful--and prolific. My grands and I took to calling them ravine lilies. When we thinned them, we put the extra shamelessly over the edge of the ravine. Four years later they were close to knocking on the door.
Just so beautiful. Thanks for sharing them with us.
They are very pretty to see and quite colourful. Nice photos Marie.
Beautiful flowers or should I say beautiful pictures...
I love yellow. My yellow spring jacket is my favourite!! I have yellow cardigans... Now that I think about it... Maybe yellow running shoes would look nice on my feet!!... : ))
They are glorious. How I would love to wander through your friends garden - and thank you for giving us the chance.
Lucy has a green thumb for sure! She has an amazing collection of lilies, and I enjoyed seeing the pictures you shared of all of them! How lovely for you to be able to visit her delightful garden and share the pictures with us :)
They were beautifuul, Jan.
These daylilies were late this year, AC.
Lol. They are determined, Joanne.
You're welcome, Mage.
The colours were beautiful, Bill.
I saw someone recently with a yellow-green running shoe. They stood out for sure, Catarina.
It was great to have you with me, EC.
Lucy has great gardening knowledge and sense, Marilyn.
The day lilies are lovely, and a new blossom every day! I had some nice ones at my previous house, I hope the new owners are enjoying the blooms.
Day Lillies are very pleasing to the eyes. Her place must be marvelous with all those flowers.
I remember another glimpse of your friend Lucy's garden Marie, how wonderful it must be to visit! Lovely lilies of all colours and varieties!
What a wonderful sight and very well captured too, nice photos!
i love them, really i do but maintaining them is tough. i dead head them and clean them up all the time and that makes for a lot of work!!
so really, i have a love/hate relationship with them!!
I bet they are, Shammi. Love the daylilies!
Lucy's garden is beautiful, Angela.
The garden is peaceful and gorgeous, PDP.
Thank you, B.
They require work, those beauties, Debbie!
If I had to pick only one plant to have it would be daylillies. The come in some many colors, shapes and sizes. And while wonderfully feminine, the cut flowers are not to girly girly for the family house.
I love them that much too, Barbara!
Great selection of day lilies!
It is, FG.
They're beautiful! I really like the pink ones and the light yellow ones. I like lilies, but we choose not to have them because of the cats, so I love it when people share pictures of theirs.
They are beautiful flowers and I was happy to share them with you, Danielle.
