Along the way

There is always something new to see along the boardwalk. The same scenes can change with the weather, additions people make to the setting or the animals themselves.

People enjoy the animals so much that many add houses and feeders along the way.

Spring has brought several new feeders to the area.

The Covid 19 pandemic has added another dimension to the boardwalk as safety messages are posted along the route.

Meanwhile, life for the animals goes on as usual.

This trunk shows the work of a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker which is nowhere to be seen. However, the rows of holes reveal its handiwork. I hope to see it sometime.

There is still lots of snow in the woods along the trail as the sun doesn’t reach the forest floor. While the ice is gone from the harbour, a rise in temperature will be required to melt this accumulation.

Someone left a painted message on a rock at the gazebo. It brought a smile during these unusual times in which we live.

Rainbow messages of hope are appearing everywhere during this pandemic. “Everything will be okay!” Have faith!

We have a lot of painted rocks but not a rainbow theme. It's all good.

I love the birdhouse and feeders. Terrific idea. I have heard of a couple of people doing the rock mood lifters. If I had any talent I would do that too.

Hello,
It is cool there are so many feeders and houses, the birds and squirrels will love them. I love the rainbow and message on the painted rock. Take care! Enjoy your day, have a great new week!

Love those bird and squirrel feeders! It's just lovely! Indeed our lives have changed drastically. It's hard to feel ok when someone gets too close physically. Now I read that the virus leaves lasting consequences to one's body...so even if one survives it one will have health issues. However we pray for a vaccine soon and it will be okay. Thank you for the lovely photos Marie!

Yes, life goes on as usual, even during the pandemic. I was surprised to see so much snow in your area, still. :-)

I love to hear from your peaceful place. Such a contrast to the high anxiety of city friends.

And that's a very desirable birdhouse there, bungalow craftsman style. I wonder what posh birds will take it over.

Those rocks are fun. I've not seen them before but Tim has in town. Neat stuff.

Not long ago at the maple tree we have there was fight. I look out, three wood peckers. I've never seen them that close and they were fighting with each other on the maple tree outside our bedroom window.

That's my bird story for the day. Cheers and boogie boogie.

Oh, I love all those bird feeders and how people have stepped up to encourage each other.
I see some painted rocks around our neighborhood and a lot of the children are doing chalk drawings on the sidewalks.
In times like these we need these messages of Hope.
Stay safe and well Marie.

Some of those bird feeders look like 5 star restaurants. I hope they are.
And I love that encouraging rock.
Stay safe, stay well, and thank you for sharing the beauty around you.

That is so much snow for April! That's great that people put out feeders like that.

I like the new bird houses and feeders appearing. That certainly is evidence everything will be OK.

Yes, eventually , everything will be ok, but for now we struggle to make sense of it all. A walk along the trails like that must help to ease some tension.

I love that rock...our town has out benches. I need to try to get some photos but it is hard when you are the driver. They are all painted cheerful colors and offer positive messages.

I loved walking along the beach - like your boardwalk, there was always something different to see each time.
The rock is so encouraging. Rainbows have always been a symbol of hope, so it is nice to see them being used this way.
Be safe, Mxx

I have never seen painted rocks here, maybe I should start a trend :-) We are seeing more animals around, they obviously love humans in lock-down! Stay safe, Diane

I am glad that people are stepping up to take care of the birds. You will have to monitor these nest boxes and let us know who occupies them.

I like to see those symbols of hope.
I believe those animals are missing human attention...

Everything will be okay!

Those are fancy feeders. We try to deter squirrels from ours but I'm quite half-hearted about it.

Is a yellow-bellied sapsucker a bird? It sounds as though it should be a snake!

It's nice to see wood holes made by birds in the forest ..., hopefully the epidemic will end soon and the happy life as before will return quickly.

Greetings
