During our excursions this spring, my husband and I have discovered some interesting sights. It is a good thing our rural roads are not busy this time of year as we stop to take pictures on many of them.
This cottage at Tignish Shores is prepared for high seas.
At Northport, an example of recycling at its best caught our attention.
Near Oyster Cove, a hydrant needed some assistance.
When you need a place for your boat, a swing comes in handy.
Last week the trouting season opened so we stopped at the mouth of a river in western Prince Edward Island to watch a group fishing off or through the ice.
While there, I found a magnetic key case by the side of the road. Unbeknownst to us, it was a geocache. Inside was the sign-in sheet for players. I placed the case in the exact position for a geocacher to locate.
We never know what we will discover around here.

Great pictures but I have to admit that the trout fishing one looks like pure hell to me. I cannot fathom that is sport or fun for anyone. But that’s just me.
I laughed at the swing and canoe picture. And I couldn't quite figure out the repurposed something suspended from chains. A child's horse? In any event, it was curious to try to figure it out. :-)
What a terrific series of finds. All of them worth a post in themselves. Glad the snow is disappearing.

I hope the pump is just to prime the hydrant! The hat on top is lovely. All that's required in a small town to say "Hands off", I suspect.

I tried a bit of geocaching once, but my GPS didn't seem to be quite accurate enough.

A wonderful testament to peoples' ingenuity and to your eagle eye! I am a bit surprised the ice was strong enough for ice fishing this time of year, and that they were fishing trout! We have smelt shacks that set up nearby but they have long since been hauled off the ice.
sometimes the simplest things make the best pictures!! i love the first one, after super storm sandy so many entire homes in this area have been elevated!!!!

I love the recycled swing and the canoe sitting atop the other swing. Both are done by creative thinking people.
