The blogging community keeps me apprised of the progress of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. The new green of tree and shrub, the restored green of grass and the sprout and blossom of plants and flowers are all well under way. It is on Prince Edward Island as well, but at a slower pace.
To illustrate, I stopped at Irishtown this week to photograph our spring progress. My husband and I love this area and stop several times every year to walk the Millman Road and look out over the rolling hills. In a few weeks the apple blossoms will draw us back here again.
This is the Millman Road this week. The deciduous trees are still asleep.
Nearby the countryside shows that preparation of the fields for this year’s crop is well underway.
The rolling hills have yet to acquire their deciduous green as the newly ploughed fields wait for planting.
Grass is in various stages of green.
The small village church looks over the scene.
We have to wait two more weeks.

We seem to have leafed out almost completely, and now we have some blossoms.
Charming PEI!
Yesterday showed me how green it is here, in comparison to your late spring. But it's really wonderful to see all the preparation in progress. :-)
Beautiful scenarios Marie, after that long cold winter two weeks is not long to wait.. looking forward to seeing the changes ✨
Beautiful rolling hills.
Yes, we're ahead of you, but other places in southern climates seem to have had their spring a month ago.
I can't wait! I can't wait! (to see your photos of full spring and summer, again.) :)
Our green has really only just appeared this week, and it is astonishing how fast the green develops once the right weather conditions are here!
we are ahead of you also but not too much. your landscape is beautiful now, it will be gorgeous in 2 weeks. i will wait impatiently to see it!!!
The seasons pay no attention to a calendar. Or to what anyone says they 'should' be doing. Glad that your spring is hinting that she is ready to push her colder sister out of the way.
With all the rain we have had here, I cannot believe how green everything is. Sadly though, so much rain means a lot of the fruit looks like it is going to rot before it ripens!
Have a good weekend Diane.
The rolling hills are beautiful to see.
Our spring finally began. Thank goodness!
I look forward to the blossoms too AC.
Indeed!
It won’t be long now Jan.
I look forward to the green as well PDP.
Those scenes are typical of our countryside Barbara.
Ontario is always ahead of us for greenery in spring William.
I can’t wait for the fullness of summer too SW.
I hope our leaves erupts quickly too Shammi.
I can’t wait Debbie. It feels like ages since everything was green.
We wait the return of the green EC.
It’s a double edged sword Diane.
That area is typical of our countryside Bill.
Yay, Joanne.
Beautiful countryside! I love the country... but I love the city more
: )
Lovely! It's finally greening up all over central Alberta!
I am a country girl at heart, but really an island girl.
Wonderful. It happens quickly when it starts Jenn.
