After the Storm

The day after a recent storm, my husband and I headed to the boardwalk by the bay. We are fortunate that our council clears and de-ices the boardwalk quickly after any snowfall or icy weather. It was a beautiful day, with evidence of the heavy snowfall everywhere.

Let's have a look.

The boardwalk was busy as usual.

There were places where the snow looked blue.

Indian Head Lighthouse looked battered from years of storms.

The blue sky accentuated the trees, clouds, ice and snow.

In more protected areas, the snow still clung to the branches.

In contrast, a network of branches were outlined against the sky.

This furry friend had hiccups.

In the shade, the "blue" snow was beautiful.

The end of the trail...

The trail looks different every time we are there.

Thank you for taking me along on your walk. It's lovely there after a snowfall. :-)

They do a good job. They wouldn't bother clearing footpaths here.

Indeed it is!

During budget consultations, the people here said it is a priority to have the boardwalk cleared and the council complied. During the day, it is amazing how many seniors use the trail. Working people head there in the evenings.

I always find boardwalks so slippery in the winter (wood decks too). Wood can be treacherous!

We are lucky. Ours is well maintained.

You are so lucky to have a council that clears the boardwalk. What a lovely place to meander. Your pictures are outstanding.

You caught that storm too, eh? We got 50cm in one day.

A marvelous place for walks! It is great that they clean the ice and snow right away after snow storms. We have had a couple of nice days 50's Fahrenheit and the snow is melting away here in North Dakota. I wanted to let you know I am now following you.

Weget snow, then rain a few days later. The temperatures are up and down too. Strange winter after that mess last year.

Thank you, Angela. Glad it is mild there. It is here today too.

Wow Marie, That is just so beautiful and I am amazed how clear the board walk is after the storm. When we have snow everything is in chaos and hardly any paths are cleared! Sarah x
